"Racial Justice for Black Lives is excited to support Himaja Nagireddy for Acton Select Board. As a young woman of color, she will bring a unique and valuable perspective. We feel it is important that a candidate for local town government understands the importance of the anti-racism work to be done to dismantle white supremacy. We see that in Himaja. Himaja also recognizes the need for our town government to be representative of the town in which it governs. Himaja has first-hand experience of the negative impact racism can have, and she recognizes the importance of building a community that is inclusive of its diverse members.
Himaja is committed to progressive policies and actions. Her passion and tireless voice will be welcomed in our local town government.
Racial Justice for Black Lives’ goal is to create a society that is equitable and just, in which every Black person has the right to economic, health, and environmental security, a meaningful political voice, and a sense of belonging in the community. By working together to create Black joy, we all benefit and we build a community of mutual respect, togetherness, and love.
Himaja embodies our core goal. Please join us in voting for Himaja Nagireddy on June 29, 2021.

As an AB alum and a woman of color, Himaja deeply understands the impact that representation in town government can have on fellow Actonians, as well as the intersectionality of environmental efforts and social justice work.
